Spinning is a fun, group workout to great music. Your instructor will coach you for 45 minutes, helping you to match the tempo of the music with the terrain, whether seated, hill climbing or racing. Spin cycling is an amazing workout for improving your aerobic capacity and anaerobic strength, whilst buring up to 900 calories an hour. Under guidance of your instructor and motivation of your fellow participants you will experience slow climbs, short sprints and recovery spins that present no barrier to co-ordination or boredom. Each workout is performed indoors on stationary cycles so spin cycle can be enjoyed all year round, whatever the weather!
Who Is Spinning Aimed At? Spinning is a cardiovascular training programme that can be enjoyed by all. Because you are in control of your level of resistance, anyone from beginners to mountain bike enthusiasts can enjoy and benefit from studio cycle. Physically fit participants will be able to enjoy an effective cross training workout. For the moderately fit it provides a very athletic cardiovascular workout. For beginners, spin cycle can offer a less intimidating introduction to music driven group exercise with no co-ordination or sense of balance required! Spinning/RPM is especially good for those with a history of high impact injuries or related conditions because of the non-weight bearing nature of the workout. What Options Are Available For Beginners? All of the above! Your instructor will talk you through the various riding positions and you always have the option of increasing or decreasing resistance and/or cadence (speed) and remaining in the seated position during standing phases. One of the great things about spinning in comparison to other group exercise activities is that only you know how much or how little resistance you are working with, so there is no risk of embarrassment! As with all exercise, participants with a limited fitness background or a previous medical condition must first seek medical advice prior to particpating. |

Client Review Spinning / RPM has proved to be an excellent fitness class and seems suitable for people of all fitness levels. I like the way you have full control over what you are doing, i.e. how much resistance you can put on, so everyone can participate throughout the class without feeling self conscious. The layout of the tracks is also good as you generally have speed tracks in between climbing tracks, which keeps it interesting. Bryan is a great instructor whose enthusiasm spurs on everyone in the class. He participates fully in the class and you can see that he pushes himself to the limit as well as the other participants. His obvious enjoyment of RPM encourages you and makes the class much more enjoyable, motivating and effective. Lorna Lawson |
